Role Description

The Occupational Therapist is a full-time, on-site role based in Denver, CO, responsible for evaluating residents’ functional abilities and developing individualized treatment plans to improve independence and quality of life. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting assessments, designing and implementing evidence-based interventions, and providing therapeutic activities to support daily living skills, mobility, and cognitive function. The role involves collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team, including nursing staff, physicians, and rehabilitation professionals, to coordinate care and track progress. The Occupational Therapist will document assessments, treatment sessions, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory and facility standards, while educating residents, families, and caregivers on strategies to optimize function and safety. The position also supports quality improvement initiatives and contributes to a positive, person-centered care environment.

Qualifications

• Clinical practice skills in Occupational Therapy, including assessment, treatment planning, and intervention across post-acute and long-term care settings.
• Knowledge of Rehabilitation principles and Medicine as they relate to skilled nursing, recovery, and functional independence.
• Strong Communication abilities for collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, engaging residents and families, and documenting care clearly and accurately.
• Experience or interest in Pediatrics, with the ability to adapt therapeutic approaches across diverse age groups when needed.
• Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist; graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards, documentation requirements, and best practices in skilled nursing and rehabilitation settings.
• Demonstrated commitment to person-centered care, cultural competence, and maintaining professional ethics and integrity.
• Ability to manage a caseload, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
