Job summary

Soar Autism Center is seeking an Occupational Therapist to serve young children in a center-based setting in Denver. The role focuses on naturalistic OT, addressing gross and fine motor, feeding, and daily living skills while coordinating with ABA, speech, and psychology teams.

The OT will guide and mentor RBTs, monitor client progress, and maintain collaborative communication with families. A Master’s/ Doctorate in OT and active license are required, with preference for 3+ years but welcoming

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Active license to practice occupational therapy.
  • Preference for 3+ years of experience; open to new grads.
  • Must be able to engage young children with a playful, communicative approach.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement naturalistic OT for children aged 2–6 in a center-based setting.
  • Develop interventions to support gross/fine motor skills, feeding, and activities of daily living.
  • Coordinate assessments and treatment plans with ABA, speech, psychology; perform co-treatments with speech team.
  • Coach and mentor RBTs to translate OT goals and support career growth.
  • Monitor progress, update plans/goals, and communicate changes to families and team.
  • Partner with families to set goals and support their journey.

Soar is building a network of interdisciplinary clinics where children with autism and their families receive life-shaping services that support them to thrive. Specifically, we focus on integrated autism care that serves the needs of young children with autism.

Role Overview
  • Plan and implement naturalistic occupational therapy for young children ages 2‑6 years old in a center-based setting
  • Develop interventions for young clients to support client gross motor skills, fine motor skills, feeding, and other activities of daily living
  • Conduct multidisciplinary assessments and create treatment plans in coordination with other clinical specialties (ABA, speech, psychology) as well as perform co‑treatments with the speech therapy team
  • Coach and mentor a team of RBTs to effectively translate OT goals into their therapy, and support their career growth and progression
  • Monitor client progress, update treatment plans and goals, and communicate needed changes to team members and families
  • Partner with client families to develop goals, build relationships, communicate progress, and coach and support them in their journey
Qualifications
  • Have a Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Have your license to practice occupational therapy
  • Preference to OTs with 3+ years of experience, but also open to new OTs starting their career
  • Embody a playful spirit and the ability to connect and engage with young children
  • Clear professional communication, both verbally and in writing
