Job summary

Columbia Pediatric Therapy is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our pediatric clinic in Vancouver, WA. You will develop, recover or maintain daily living and work skills for children with physical, developmental or mental conditions, collaborating closely with families and a supportive multi-disciplinary team.

We offer a full-time (or part-time) schedule with flexible client load, competitive hourly pay ($39.00–$53.00/hour) and benefits including health and dental insurance,

Qualifications

  • Pediatric OT experience preferred and relevant licensure.
  • Current OT license and ability to supervise a COTA.
  • Strong communication and collaboration with families and team.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and CEUs.

Responsibilities

  • Address child’s performance to support engagement in occupations that affect health, well-being and life quality.
  • Select and adapt OT treatment model and approach for interventions.
  • Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in ADLs/IADLs.
  • Teach children new ways to approach tasks and break down activities.
  • Recommend adaptive equipment and train in its use.
  • Guide and educate family members and caregivers.
  • Observe, report on progress of long- and short-term goals.
  • Collect data and document processes followed; regular follow-up with clients.

We are a pediatric speech therapy clinic that hires dedicated, kind therapists to help our community of children improve their communication skills. We are looking to add another wonderful Occupational Therapist to our group! If you are an energetic, independent, and experienced OT that loves to collaborate, this could be the position for you!

Scheduling of clients may be flexible, but full time case load is preferred.

We are looking for a committed and patient-focused Occupational Therapist to develop, recover or maintain the daily living and work skills of children with physical, mental or developmental conditions. You will offer effective and client-centered services that will enable people to confidently and independently carry out everyday tasks or activities. The successful candidate will have an holistic perspective and will be able to adapt the environment to fit the person. Our team loves to learn and teach each other. The ideal applicant would be interested in expanding their knowledge through CEUs, group/team study, and teaching each other. Continuing education refuels our energy to help and serve each other and our community!

Responsibilities
  • Address child’s aspects of performance to support engagement in occupations that affect health, well-being and life quality
  • Select and adapt the appropriate per case occupational therapy treatment model, method and approach to direct the process of interventions
  • Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL)
  • Teach children new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components
  • Recommend adaptive equipment and train in its use
  • Guide and educate family members and caregivers
  • Observe, note, and report on progress of long and short term treatment goals
  • Collect data and document processes followedRegularly follow-up client
  • Preferred 2+ years in pediatric experience
Skills
  • Proven working experience as occupational therapist, 3+ years preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of occupational therapy
  • Hands-on experience with computer programs and creative media
  • Familiarity with ADLs evaluation tools
  • Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities
  • Current knowledge of treatment practices per discipline and drive to continually learn and grow in the profession
  • Professional behavior
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Valid license to practice occupational therapy
  • Ability to supervise a COTA

Job Type: Full-time/Part-time

Salary: $39.00 - $53.00 per hour
