Provides direct patient care, individual assessment/treatment, and group treatments.2. Participates in program planning in conjunction with the nurse manager; assesses current needs of unit and patient population. Then, based on findings, develops program changes and/or enhancements.3. Serves as consultant and resource to Psychiatry staff, and to Occupational Therapy staff from other subspecialties in understanding and managing patients with psychiatric issues.4. Coordinates and implements student fieldwork training in psychiatric occupational therapy.5. Communicates effectively with patients, supervisor, supervisees, and members of the treatment team.6. Manages supplies and equipment according to established procedures.7. Manages budget and records as assigned.8. Documents patient care accurately and in a timely way in the medical record and as needed to facilitate continued care or billing.Organizational Responsibilities1. Follows hospital and department policies with special attention to safety, dress, attendance and punctuality, and display of ID badge. When taking a telephone order, writes the order on the Doctor’s Orders, reads the order back to the MD and document as a TORB.2. When taking a verbal order, repeats the order back to the MD prior to implementing the order and documents as a VORB.3. Uses only accepted abbreviations when documenting in the medical record.4. Uses two unique patient identifiers prior to treatment or patient transport.5. Consistently uses sharps devices as designed to prevent injury.6. Complies with Isolation Guidelines; wears appropriate personal protective equipment as required by specific patient precautions.7. Consistently complies with CDC Handwashing Guidelines. Cleans hands before and after patient contact, or contact with patient environment.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED1. Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy.2. Current registration by A.O.T.A. and current Massachusetts licensure.3. Grasping, fine hand manipulation, and repetitive hand movements more than 60% of the time for outpatient treatment.4.Occasional exposure to blood/body fluids and infectious diseases.Pay Range:$39.50 – $55.31The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
