Job summary

Avir at Brownwood is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our in-house therapy team in Brownwood, Texas. This role offers flexible scheduling and competitive PRN compensation, with opportunities to pick up hours as available.

The OT will work with residents to improve independence and safety, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to deliver personalized care and maintain quality of life in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Active Texas Occupational Therapist license.
• License in good standing with licensing boards.
• Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing or geriatric settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents and identify functional needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Address ADLs, IADLs, and functional independence.
• Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed.
• Recommend adaptive equipment and safety strategies.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers.
• Collaborate with nursing, physicians, and the care team.
• Complete timely clinical documentation.
• Participate in care planning and team collaboration.

What You'll Do

As an Occupational Therapist (OT), you'll provide skilled occupational therapy services designed to help residents improve their independence, safety, functional abilities, and overall quality of life.

Responsibilities include:

• Evaluating residents and identifying functional needs
• Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans
• Addressing activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), and functional independence
• Monitoring resident progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed
• Recommending adaptive equipment and safety strategies
• Educating residents, families, and caregivers
• Collaborating with nursing, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Completing timely and accurate clinical documentation
• Participating in care planning and team collaboration

What We're Looking For

• Active Texas Occupational Therapist (OT) license
• License in good standing with applicable licensing boards and regulatory agencies
• Long‑term care, skilled nursing, or geriatric experience preferred, but not required
• Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Net Health documentation experience is a plus
• Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team
• Passion for helping residents maintain independence and quality of life
