Job summary

TKC Therapy in Bowling Green, KY, is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our on-site team serving children aged birth to 21 in a PPEC setting.

We offer full-time, part-time, or PRN hours with a flexible schedule and no-appointment structure; therapists set their own daily caseload while ensuring coverage.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• State licensure as an OT.
• Clinical pediatric experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for teamwork.
• Proficiency with standardized assessment tools and interventions.
• HIPAA compliance and professional ethics.

Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose developmental, congenital, neurological, and musculoskeletal disorders in ages birth to 21.
• Develop individualized treatment plans after comprehensive evaluations.
• Apply evidence-based pediatric OT interventions (sensory processing, motor skills, ADLs, play).
• Provide education to clients, families, and caregivers for carry‑over therapy.
• Complete all documentation promptly (evaluations, treatment notes, LMNs).
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other therapists for coordinated care.
• Stay current with advancements through continuing education.

Occupational Therapist (OT) at TKC Therapy

Full-time, Part-time, or PRN hours available.

All kids are on-site daily, so no there's no appointments-- you decide your own schedule!

About Us:

TKC Therapy provides high-quality and intensive PT, OT, and ST services to children attending The Kidz Club (TKC), a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) center. PPEC centers provide daily skilled nursing care to medically-complex children, ages birth to under 21.

Responsibilities:

1. Assess and diagnose a variety of developmental, congenital, neurological, and musculoskeletal disorders for the medical population, ages birth to 21.
2. Develop individualized treatment plans following a comprehensive evaluation to address clients' sensory processing, motor skills, cognitive abilities, self-care skills, play skills, and overall functional performance.
3. Utilize evidence-based practice in therapy sessions tailored to each client's specific impairments, including:
   • Sensory integration therapy to improve sensory processing and modulation.
   • Fine motor activities to enhance handwriting, manipulation skills, and hand-eye coordination.
   • Gross motor activities and orthotics to improve balance, coordination, mobility, and motor planning.
   • Self-care training to promote independence in activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, feeding, and grooming.
   • Social skills training to enhance peer interaction, communication, and play skills.
   • Environmental or equipment modifications to support participation in home, school, and community settings.
4. Complete all documentation (evaluations, treatment notes, LMNs) in a timely, thorough manner.
5. Provide education and guidance to clients, families, and caregivers on strategies for carry‑over therapy at home.
6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, nurses, and fellow therapists, to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
7. Stay current with advancements in the field through continuing education and professional development activities.
8. Adhere to ethical and professional standards outlined by the NBCOT.

Qualifications:

1. Possession of a master's or doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program and state licensure from the Department of Health.
2. Clinical experience working with the pediatric population (medical pediatric population strongly preferred).
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
4. Proficiency using standardized assessment tools, therapeutic interventions, and assistive technologies relevant to the field.
5. Commitment to maintaining professional competency and adhering to HIPAA policies and ethical standards.
6. Current CPR (BLS) certificate.

• Flexible schedule - start/end time and daily scheduling of patients is heavily up to therapist, as long as caseload coverage is being met. We are open Saturdays if you'd like the opportunity to see extra hours, but this is not required.
