Position Details:
- Full-time, permanent
- An occupational medicine clinic is seeking a physician enthusiastic about evidence-based occupational medicine and interested in growth opportunities as a leader.
- Ideal candidates should:
- Be board certified or eligible in occupational medicine (preferred), or in internal, family, or emergency medicine (considered).
- Have at least three years of experience in occupational medicine (urgent and primary care experience may be acceptable).
- Be experienced in or willing to practice evidence-based occupational medicine according to applicable laws.
- Be certified or willing to become certified by the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners.
- Be certified or willing to become certified as a Medical Review Officer (MRO).
- Have a strong understanding of workplace regulations, including workers' compensation, transportation, occupational safety, and other relevant laws.
As a Medical Director, the candidate should:
- Demonstrate previous leadership experience.
- Show qualities to lead, inspire, and train staff.
- Be comfortable with a schedule of two days per week of patient care and three days of staff support, development, consultations, administrative tasks, and oversight of contracts.
- Be approachable, available, and encourage team engagement.
- Possess effective communication skills, a collaborative attitude, empathy, and alignment with the health system's values.
- Be willing to participate in educational programs such as CAOHC and NIOSH respirator programs.
- Have strong presentation skills for internal and external purposes.
- Make strategic, informed decisions to guide growth and direction.
