Qualifications

• Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program approved by the State of Texas; Masters degree required.
• Graduate of a nationally accredited Physician Assistant program; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
• Licensed to practice professional nursing by the State of Texas; APRN prescriptive authority eligibility.
• Certified by a recognized national certification in population foci and/or specialty; DEA licensure eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provides health promotion and assessment, diagnosis, and management of patient problems within an interdisciplinary team.
• Performs physical examinations, reviews orders and tests, and formulates/monitors treatment plans.
• Acts under supervision for prescriptive authority with a physician; adheres to protocols and pathways.
• Maintains licensure/credentialing compliance and participates in education and research projects as appropriate.
• Educates patients and families about care resources and participates in process improvement and outcomes initiatives.
