Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a caring Medical Assistant (MA/CMA) to assist with patient care in an ambulatory setting. You will collaborate with the patient and care team to ensure comfort throughout the healthcare journey and grow within a supportive environment.

Responsibilities include collecting health data, following the care plan, and performing vital signs and point-of-care tests. Strong emphasis on documentation and patient communication.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program.
• Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA).
• CMA certification obtained through a nationally approved program (AAMA/CCMA/CMAC/NCMA).
• RMA registration via AMT is acceptable.
• ND MAIII registration required within 4 months of hire where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Collects subjective and objective health status data from patient or caregiver.
• Follows through on patient’s plan of care under provider guidance.
• Communicates provider’s instructions for care to patient or caregiver.
• Participates in care across lifespan in all phases of prevention, health maintenance, treatment and follow-up.
• Obtains vital signs, prepares patients for examinations, performs point of care testing.
