Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Nurse-RN (LPN candidates considered) to provide focused nursing care for occupational illnesses and injuries at our poultry complex. The role handles OSHA and Workers’ Compensation recordkeeping, post-offer drug screening, and reviews medical histories and related forms.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years nursing experience, occupational health preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and recordkeeping requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication, multitasking in a fast-paced plant setting.
• Experience with workers' compensation administration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review medical history and assess concerns per protocol.
• Administer drug and alcohol testing including post-offer screens.
• Provide first aid and occupational health care within RN scope.
• Maintain injury, OSHA, and workers' compensation records electronically.
• Partner with workers' comp adjusters and case managers to manage claims.
• Lead safety, ergonomics, and wellness initiatives at the site.
• Educate employees on preventative health and wellness.
