Job description

We are in search of a Health Occupational Nurse to join our team in Shakopee, MN! In this role, you will play a critical role in managing employee occupational health and wellness in a dynamic manufacturing & field-based team. This individual will be responsible for administering workers’ compensation programs, coordinating accommodations, managing workplace injuries, and serving as a key point of contact for all occupational health-related matters in North America. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Workers’ Compensation & Claims Management: Leading the workers' compensation process, including claim filing, communication with third-party administrators, statutory filings and return-to-work planning. Partnering with legal and insurance teams to manage claim-related litigation, prepare documentation, and provide testimony as needed.
  • Workplace Accommodations: Evaluating and coordinating reasonable accommodation for employees with medical or personal needs, ensuring compliance with ADA and internal policies.
  • Injury Follow-Up: Monitoring recovery progress of injured employees and coordinating with healthcare providers and supervisors to facilitate a safe return to work. Partnering with EHS & People Leaders in the incident investigation process.
  • HR & EHS Partnership: Developing, updating, and managing occupational health and safety policies in collaboration with HR and EHS teams. Partnering with HR and Leaves Manager to provide medical advice, guidance on accommodations/leaves, etc.
  • First Response Team: Championing the First Aid Response Team, ensuring immediate and effective response to on-site medical incidents and injuries.
  • OSHA Recordkeeping: Maintaining accurate OSHA logs and reports, ensuring timely submission and compliance with federal and state requirements.
  • Medical Exams Coordination: Coordinating and monitoring surveillance and regulatory examinations for employees, including visual acuity tests, audiograms, respiratory evaluations, business travel assessments, and related procedures.
  • Preventive Health Coordination: Serving as the primary coordinator for preventive health initiatives such as vaccination clinics, travel health services, and related efforts.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Occupational Safety & Health, Human Resources, or related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in occupational health, workers’ compensation, or employee health management
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, ADA, FMLA, and state-specific leave laws
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage sensitive issues with confidentiality and professionalism
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • BSN, RN and/or COHN strongly preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Experience with health management systems and HRIS platforms
  • Proficient in the use of computer software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $80,000-$120,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
