Job summary

Northern Light Health in Portland, ME is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time, on-site role in the Work Health department. The MA provides clinical support for clinics, performs screenings and vaccinations, and handles patient records and scheduling tasks.

The ideal candidate has a Medical Assistant program and/or current certification or equivalent training, with certification requirements to be met within 12 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant program and/or current AAMA or AMT certification required OR successful completion of training and competencies for Medical Assistant functions is required.
• NIOSH Spirometry, CAOHC/Audiometry, DOT Urine Collector, and Breath Alcohol Technician certifications required within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day clinical support for Work Health clinics within MA scope.
• Perform exams/screening/testing/vaccinations as requested.
• Document all care accurately and promptly.
• Assist with front desk responsibilities, scheduling, registration and referrals.
• Manage patient records and liaise between patient, client and practitioners.
