Job summary

UnityPoint Health seeks an experienced Clinic RN for West Des Moines Occupational Health. The RN will provide direct care to employees, conduct pre-employment screenings, and support provider with examinations on UnityPoint Health property.

Responsibilities include wound care coordination, order implementation, patient education, and data entry into the electronic health record. The role may involve on-site client services and screenings in collaboration with UPHaW leadership.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program leading to RN licensure.
• Registered Nurse license in state of practice in good standing.
• Current CPR certification.
• Certification in Hearing conservation (CAOHC) or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• NIOSH approved spirometry training or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• If performing client-based services, Chauffeur’s license required, which can be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtain information to assist provider and referral specialist with patient referrals and complete forms for referrals or lab testing.
• Assist in case management initiation and follow-up.
• Accurately and promptly implement physicians’ orders.
• Function as a clinician, educator, and resource for patients within their specialty of care and assist providers with office procedures.
• Draw blood and collect samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
• Conduct pulmonary function testing, drug testing, vision testing, hearing testing, immunization delivery and spirometry testing.
• Use medical equipment such as computer, spirometer, audiometer, fax and telephones properly.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee medical records and ensure accurate documentation in EHR.
• Provide timely documentation in the patient’s electronic health record using standardized workflows.
• Demonstrate initiative to improve quality and customer service beyond expectations.
• Perform telephone triage by advising on home care and following up on health progress.
• Collaborate with team to adhere to client protocols and services.
• Coordinate with UPHaW leadership for client services and testing within care settings.
