Job summary

SkyWest Airlines, based in Saint George, Utah, is seeking OCC System Controllers to help manage day-to-day operations and ensure on-time performance. You will be trained to support the largest regional airline in coordinating flights, crews, and procedures with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Candidates should be prepared for shift work, including weekends and holidays, and have FAA dispatcher or pilot credentials or related aviation experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure schedule integrity and daily operation of SkyWest flights for safety and regulatory compliance.
• Cancel and delay flights, reflow crews and aircraft to optimize efficiency and passenger experience.
• Monitor weather and ATC factors affecting flights in the region.
• Communicate changes with dispatchers, flight crews and station personnel.
• Develop contingency and recovery plans during irregular operations.

Primary Job Duties

• Responsible for schedule integrity and daily operation of SkyWest Airlines flights to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and consideration of economic factors
• Cancels and delays flights, reflows crews and aircraft as necessary to achieve a high level of efficiency, economics, and passenger convenience
• Maintains a constant awareness of weather, air traffic control, and other factors impacting flights in their region of operation
• Communicates with the appropriate dispatcher regarding changes that affect the release of any flight
• Communicates with flight crew and station personnel regarding changes to aircraft assignment
• Develops contingency and recovery plans during irregular operations

Minimum Requirements

• Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and shift work with possible early morning, late night or graveyard shifts
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• This is an hourly position with an annual equivalent pay of $56,638.40
• FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate, FAA Pilots License, or experience in an aviation related field preferred
• Airline experience preferred
• Must be able to read, interpret, and apply aviation weather to the operation
• Experience in a supervisory or training role preferred
