Job summary

Stony Brook Southampton Hospital is seeking a per diem Registered Nurse in the Obstetrics department. You will assess patients, create care plans, administer medications, and coordinate care with other disciplines to support health and well-being while adhering to medical regimens.

Ideal candidates hold a New York State RN license with BLS, ACLS, and NRP within 3 months of hire, and have prior Labor and Delivery or postpartum experience. On-call duties are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• NY State RN license or eligibility.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• NRP certification within 3 months of hire.
• Prior Labor and Delivery or Postpartum experience.
• On call required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and coordinate nursing care with other health disciplines.
• Develop written, individualized care and discharge plan.
• Administer direct care and medications as needed.
• Practice infection control and maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to Charge RN/Clinician.
• Maintain up-to-date care plans and patient education records.
• Collaborate with staff across departments to ensure quality care.
