Job summary

Qualifications

• RN license required in state or multi-state via eNLC (Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact).
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• 10+ years of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery with at least 3 years in a leadership/supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Advises the Director on hiring, retention, interviewing, and recruitment of staff.
• Maintains personnel records and supports ongoing education programs for staff.
• Develops and implements orientation, in-service education, and training on new equipment/systems.
• Provides performance feedback via goal setting, peer evaluation, and formal reviews.
• Monitors budgets and expenses; justifies variances to the Director.
• Ensures cost-effective staffing patterns and appropriate skill mix for patient care.
• Communicates with physicians, nurses, and staff to resolve issues promptly.
• Promotes patient- and family-centered care and unit culture aligned with WVU Medicine standards.
• Participates in QI teams and staff meetings to disseminate information.
