Job summary

Shawnee Health Service in southern Illinois is seeking an OB/GYN physician to join a close-knit team of physicians and nurse midwives. The role features a 4-day work week with a mix of OR, clinic, and shared call, handling 660 deliveries in 2024 and a growing OB patient base at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Responsibilities include office consultations, office-based procedures, outpatient surgeries, and inpatient rounding, with access to 24-hour anesthesia and neonatology coverage.

Qualifications

• Board-certified OB/GYN with obstetric and gynecologic surgery experience.
• Proficient in colposcopy and LEAP.
• Experience with robotic gynecologic surgeries.
• Ability to manage high-volume deliveries and inpatient rounding.

Responsibilities

• Provide office consultations and perform office-based procedures (colposcopy, LEAP).
• Perform outpatient surgeries and participate in inpatient rounding at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
• Contribute to high-volume gynecologic surgeries using robotic systems.
• Collaborate with anesthesia, neonatology, and multidisciplinary teams.
