Job summary

Shawnee Health in Southern Illinois is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to join a small, dedicated team providing comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care. You will work with one OB/GYN physician and four CNMs, with a call schedule of one night per week and one-fifth weekends, and 24/7 hospitalist backup.

The role emphasizes holistic, patient-centered care, collaboration with physicians and staff, and commitment to Shawnee Health’s mission.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate in Nurse Midwifery required.
• AMCB certification required.
• Licensed or eligible for Illinois CNM licensure.
• Current DEA license and Illinois Controlled Substances license.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecological care.
• Conduct office consultations and wellness exams.
• Support labor and delivery at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
• Collaborate with OB/GYN physicians, nurses, and support staff.
• Educate and counsel patients on reproductive health, pregnancy, and postpartum care.
• Utilize integrated behavioral health services, care coordination, and case management.

Standard Benefits For Physicians, Dentists, And Midlevel Practitioners

• Shawnee Health offers 280 hours for full time practitioners for each full fiscal year of employment for vacations, holidays, sick leave, continuing education or other absences from the practice. At the end of any employment year, a portion of unused Leave days may be carried forward to the next year or you may opt to take the cash value of the unused Leave days.
• Productivity Incentives: Shawnee offers select physicians, dentists, and midlevel practitioners’ merit and productivity incentives based negotiated contractual terms related to net collections and/or total encounters.
• Merit Bonus: Shawnee offers select physicians, dentists, and midlevel practitioners’ productivity incentives based on negotiated criteria.
• Continuing Education (CE) Allocation: physicians, dentists, and midlevel practitioners receive an annual CE allocation.

Base Compensation

Pay Range: $110,000-135,000

The listed salary range reflects average compensation based on experience. Candidates with exceptional qualifications or experience are encouraged to apply, as compensation may be adjusted accordingly.
