Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring an Obstetrics and Gynecology Technologist for its L&D department on a flexi/PRN day shift. Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, you will assist in maternity care and surgical services, providing patient comfort, hygiene support, data collection, and documentation in line with obstetrical practice.

The ideal candidate holds an LPN degree or Surgical Technologist training, plus 1 year OB/OR experience and BLS certification within 90 days.

Qualifications

• 1 year OB/OR/Surgical Technologist experience required.
• LPN or Surgical Technologist education/training accepted; CST experience preferred if not LPN.
• BLS Certification within 90 days is required.

Job Description Summary

Under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse, responsible for assisting in the nursing care and surgical services in the maternity services area including the provision of patient care necessary for comfort, hygiene, data collection, and documentation. Activities are based on accepted standards of operating room and obstetrical practice and are performed within the scope of education, training, and experience.
LPN or Surgical Technologist education & training accepted. If not an LPN, experience as Surgical Tech and CST preferred. BLS required within 90 days of hire.

Education

• Either Surgical Technologist Trade School Degree or LPN Degree REQUIRED

Certification/Licensure

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days REQUIRED

Experience

• 1 year Prior OB/OR/Surgical Technologist experience REQUIRED

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $27.56 - $42.78 hourly.
