Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an Obstetric Technician to assist obstetric and surgical teams, maintain sterile technique, and support patient care in the Labor Rooms and OR. You will follow care plans, help with deliveries, and ensure patient safety and accurate counts of instruments and supplies.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, and relevant certifications such as AHA BLS and OB/Surgical tech credentials.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists and supports nursing staff with direct and indirect patient care.
• Maintains sterile technique and prepares OR supplies.
• Assists surgeons in procedures such as Cesarean section and other listed surgeries.
• Communicates patient information and changes in condition to the nurse.
• Ensures patient belongings are stored and transfers handled properly.
• Responds to call lights promptly and participates in emergencies.
• Adheres to regulatory and institutional policies and procedures.
• Lifts 25 lbs. and stands for 8 hours daily.
• Contacts medical personnel and visitors regularly.
