Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health in New York seeks a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care and, where needed, supervision or consultation across our network. The role includes orientation-driven training such as CORE EKG and specialty classes, with a focus on quality outcomes and patient safety.

Qualified candidates hold NY licensure and a BSN is preferred; ongoing education and credentialing are encouraged to advance clinical practice within our Trinity Health-affiliated system.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure in NY state.
• BSN degree preferred according to NYS requirements.
• Specialty credentialing and educational degree according to clinical nursing practice specialty area preferred.
• Maintains all licensures and certifications according to NYS regulations and specialty area requirements.
• Participates in continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.

Responsibilities

• Collaboration, communication & facilitation of optimal provision of care through a computerized/digital platform.
• Assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring & evaluation of the patient's plan of care from admission to discharge.
• Utilize clinical knowledge, critical thinking skills & the principles of case management to coordinate, implement & support the plan of care.
• Monitor quality metrics specific to the department & ensure complete & accurate documentation in the patient record.
• Ensures quality care is rendered to all patients in accordance with NY regulatory agencies, national standards and internal nursing and clinical service standards.
• Maintains current knowledge of health care economics, trends and reimbursement methodologies and applies knowledge to daily practice.
