Job summary

CentraState Healthcare System in Freehold, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Technician (Observation Unit) to provide skilled support to licensed staff in the observation unit. You will perform assigned duties to deliver quality patient care under RN direction and adhere to Joint Commission standards.

The role emphasizes patient-focused care with a multidisciplinary approach, including 1:1 observation when needed and ability to float between units. Per diem schedule includes day shifts, 7A–7:30P.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year nursing assistant healthcare experience required OR CNA or PCT training OR enrolled in a degreed nursing program OR completed a school clinical rotation in an acute setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides considerate respectful care focused on the patient’s individual needs.
• Checks exterior of code cart each shift.
• Affirms patient’s right to make decisions regarding care.
• Collects and labels specimens accurately.
• Performs bedside glucose monitoring and data entry.
• Follows policy and documents observations.
• Float between units as needed to provide 1:1 patient observation.
