Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking an Observability Engineer to maintain and enhance our observability ecosystem across on-prem and cloud, including Prometheus, ELK, and Alerting. You will work with TOPS analysts and dev teams to onboard telemetry, build tools, and unify monitoring.

This hybrid role features four days in the office and one day remote, with opportunities to improve reliability, automate production systems, and participate in incident response and post-incident reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years in SRE, DevOps, or technical operations roles.
• Proficiency in Python and PromQL.
• REST API development/integration experience and modern tools.
• Hands-on Linux experience and the ELK stack.
• Experience with Prometheus/Alertmanager or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop tools, scripts, and REST API integrations for automation.
• Aggregate and analyze metrics/logs using the ELK Stack and set up alerts.
• Maintain and optimize Prometheus, Alertmanager, and monitoring tools.
• Coordinate onboarding of new systems and document monitoring best practices.
• Contribute to incident response and post-incident reviews.
