Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Physician Assistant to provide medical services under supervision in Women’s Health OBGYN. The PA will perform histories, exams, order/perform procedures, formulate diagnoses, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with supervisors.

Requirements include NY State PA licensure, NCCPA certification, BLS, and a PA degree from an accredited program. Prior OB/GYN experience is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Physician’s Assistant program.
• Registered as a Physician’s Assistant in New York State.
• NCCPA certification.
• BLS certification required.
• One year OB/GYN experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Abscess, Incision & Drainage, local anesthesia, arterial procedures and related tasks.
• EKG Recording and interpretation assistance.
• Foley catheter insertion and removal; catheter care.
• Subcutaneous and intramuscular injections for minor procedures.
• Intravenous medication administration and monitoring.
• Assist in preop and postop care and in OR as needed.
• Obtain informed consents and coordinate discharge planning.
