Job summary

St. Peter's Health Partners in Latham, NY is seeking a Registered Nurse RNIII for the OB/GYN outpatient office. The position is full-time with a day shift, located at 713 Troy-Schenectady Rd, Latham.

The RN will use the nursing process to diagnose and treat patient needs in a clinical setting. Responsibilities include patient intake, EMR documentation, medication list management, referrals, prescriptions, consent, education, and QA duties.

Qualifications

• Triage experience required; OB/GYN experience a plus.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• NY State RN license (current, unencumbered).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• 6 months of RN experience minimum.
• Must be able to lift 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Bring patient to exam room, take vitals and document in EMR.
• Review and update medication list in EMR for provider review.
• Complete referrals and track patient compliance.
• Review prescriptions electronically and submit to provider.
• Obtain patient consent for procedures.
• Perform pre-visit planning and review quality metrics.
• Retrieve telephonic clinical information from patients.
• Monitor task list and complete tasks timely per provider.
• Educate patients regarding medications, testing procedures and home care.
• Ensure proper labeling and documentation for specimens.
• Follow up on test results as advised by provider.
• Maintain clean and safe work environment and equipment.
• Maintain medical and drug cabinets with nursing colleagues.
• Use EMR to communicate effectively.
• Perform QA duties as assigned.
• Provide a clinical visit summary to patient and educational materials.
• Participate in daily Patient Care huddles.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure quality care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
