Job summary

St. Peter's Health Partners is seeking a Medical Assistant for the OBGYN team in Latham, NY. This full-time position supports nurses and physicians in delivering quality care and managing patient flow within the EMR system.

Key duties include taking vital signs, preparing exam rooms, handling specimens, and assisting with referrals and front-end revenue cycle tasks. Requires MA training and certification; evenings/weekends not mentioned.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant Training Program.
• Possesses CMA/CCMA/RMA certification or willingness to obtain.
• Experience using an electronic health record system.
• Ability to collect patient data and vital signs accurately.
• Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
• Experience assisting physicians, nurses, or other healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and document vital signs in the EMR.
• Respond to patient concerns and provide information as needed.
• Process referrals and obtain pre-authorizations for tests.
• Collect and deliver specimens following proper protocol.
• Attend meetings and practice huddles as required.
• Complete patient forms and ensure scanning into EMR where applicable.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times.
• Coordinate front-end tasks to support revenue cycle metrics.
