Job summary

St Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates seeks a Medical Assistant for the Latham, NY outpatient orthopedics office. This full-time role supports nurses and physicians by collecting vital signs, charting in the EMR, handling referrals, and ensuring exam rooms are stocked and ready for patient care.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and healthcare experience; graduation from a MA program and CMA/CCMA/RMA certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant Training Program (Preferred).
• National Medical Assistant Certification CMA/CCMA/RMA preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience using an electronic health record system.

Responsibilities

• Escort patient to exam room and obtain vital signs and clinical data.
• Document health information into the electronic medical record.
• Complete referrals and obtain pre-authorizations for diagnostics.
• Maintain exam rooms and stocking of supplies; ensure cleanliness.
• Support revenue-cycle tasks: scheduling, check-in, check-out, and charges.
