St. Peter's Health Partners is seeking a Medical Assistant for an OBGYN clinic in Latham, NY. The full-time role supports nurses and physicians to deliver quality care, with a Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:30pm schedule.

Ideal candidates are graduates of MA programs, CMA/CCMA/RMA certified, with 10 months of healthcare experience and proficiency in EHR systems. Excellent patient communication and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant Training Program.
• Holds CMA, CCMA or RMA certification.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 10 months’ healthcare experience or clinical training.
• Proficient in obtaining manual vital signs.
• Experience using an electronic health record system.
• Commitment to confidentiality and respect.
• Ability to obtain and record patient data including health history and current meds.
• Knowledge of basic anatomy and medical terminology.
• Experience assisting physicians, nurses, or other providers.

Responsibilities

• Escort patient to exam room, take vital signs, and document in EMR.
• Respond to patient concerns appropriately.
• Complete referrals and obtain pre-authorizations for tests.
• Follow protocol for collection and delivery of specimens.
• Participate in required meetings and practice huddles.
• Process incoming patient forms and scan into EMR.
• Follow Universal Precautions and report exposure incidents.
• Notify physician of patients needing intervention.
• Keep exam rooms stocked and clean at all times.
• Assist with scheduling, registration, check-in/out, and billing steps.
