Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians is hiring a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care in a busy outpatient setting in Columbus. You will handle rooming, vital signs, history intake and patient prep, following clinical protocols and assisting physicians and nursing staff.

Applicants may have MA certification or 1+ year experience; a tuition reimbursement program is available, and you can qualify for additional compensation with MA certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least one of the following: Medical Assistant Program, 1 year medical assisting experience, Military Medic training, EMT-P training, or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and measure and record vital signs.
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures.
• Assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests as ordered by physician.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples (blood, urine, sputum) and perform routine laboratory tests.
