Job summary

CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska seeks an OB Technician to support the labor and delivery team, maintaining a sterile environment for birthing mothers and newborns. You will assist with patient care, prep rooms, manage instruments, support deliveries, transport patients, and ensure efficient workflows.

The role requires knowledge of OB procedures, aseptic techniques, and compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program, upon hire
• On-the-job scrub tech training with minimum 5 years’ experience, upon hire
• Completion of an accredited medical personnel program (CNA, MA, LPN, EMT I/II, SPD tech) with on-the-job training
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Responsibilities

• Assists and supports surgical procedures by setting up tables, instruments and supplies for cesarean sections, vaginal deliveries and circumcisions.
• Maintains appropriate stock and equipment inventories in the department and patient rooms.
• Responds to patient calls, anticipates patient needs, and ensures patient safety and comfort through rounds and safety measures.
• Records vital signs and intake/output as requested and reports changes to RN.
• Performs nursing procedures that can be delegated under nursing policies, e.g., patient baths and ambulation.
