Mercy Medical Center Birthplace seeks a Surgical Technologist I to support obstetric and surgical teams. The role involves scrubbing on core procedures, maintaining sterile technique, and assisting in cesarean sections and deliveries.

The candidate will prepare rooms, assist anesthesiology and nurses, and help with newborn care as required. This PRN, variable shift position requires at least one year of related experience, Graduation from a surgical tech program, and a current BLS certification.

Formación

• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of one year experience as a Surgical Tech, Patient Care Tech, CNA or Paramedic.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per American Heart Association.

Responsabilidades

• Performs first scrub role on core procedures and assists surgeons.
• Maintains sterile technique and sponge/needle/instrument counts per policy.
• Assists with cesarean sections, vaginal deliveries, and obstetric surgeries as needed.
• Cares for patients including newborns and routine post-delivery tasks.
• Maintains instrument room readiness and participates in inventory control.
