Job summary

Mercy is hiring a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support OB surgical teams. The role involves assisting in surgeries, maintaining sterile technique, and providing patient care under the direction of Nursing and Medical Staff.

High school diploma or GED is required, with completion of a Surgical Technologist Program and CST certification. BLS certification is also required. New graduates to experienced technologists are welcome to apply, with potential on-call duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification is required.
• Completion of a Surgical Technologist Program per the National Board of Surgical Technology is required.
• Maintain Certification without gaps.
• Proof of education may be requested.

Responsibilities

• Assist in operatory procedures and sterile technique.
• Support nursing team and patients with ADLs for obstetrical and postpartum patients.
• Perform phlebotomy, transport of specimens, and other duties as assigned.
• Work as part of a team to ensure unit goals and safety standards.
