Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis is seeking an OB Surgical Technologist (CST) to support labor and delivery procedures, including cesarean sections. You will work in a fast-paced OB team focused on safe, compassionate care for mothers and newborns, with emphasis on infection prevention and patient safety.

Role requires CST certification and completion of a surgical technologist program; high school diploma accepted with NBSTSA-program recognition. Night shift, full-time, no-call as indicated.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of accredited Surgical Technologist Program recognized by NBSTSA.
• CST certification and BLS required, with no lapse.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating and delivery rooms using sterile techniques.
• Prepare patients for labor and delivery, including cesarean sections.
• Assist physicians during procedures as directed.
• Perform first or second scrub duties within the sterile field.
• Maintain and process sterile instrumentation per hospital policy.
• Adhere to infection prevention and patient safety standards.
• Assist nursing staff in caring for newborns, obstetrical, postpartum, and pediatric patients.
• Support patient flow, room turnover, and unit operations.
