Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a dedicated professional to join the Labor & Delivery team in Monroe, Georgia. In this full-time night role, you will be responsible for ensuring the necessary instruments and supplies are in place during obstetrical operations while maintaining a sterile field and providing vital patient care.
The ideal candidate must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have experience either as a Surgical Technologist or in direct patient care. BLS certification is mandatory, with NRP preferred. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on womens health and patient outcomes.

Our 7-bed unit, with an integrated OR and PACU, supports 3040 deliveries each month and provides comprehensive care for a wide range of patients and obstetric needs from triage and labor to surgical delivery, recovery, postpartum, newborn nursery, and gynecologic care.
Our team thrives on strong prioritization, professionalism, and collaboration to provide safe, patient-centered care. Staffing ratios are thoughtfully guided by patient acuity and volume: 1:1 in active labor and OR/recovery, 2:1 for patients on magnesium therapy, and 3:1 for couplet care. These ratios reflect our commitment to maintaining the highest standards while adjusting to clinical realities as needed.

Labor and Delivery
Full Time Nights
Responsible for handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the obstetrical operations performed in the Operating Room located in the Labor and Delivery unit. He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program OR has one year previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist OR three years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW
BLS required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
NRP is preferred.
Preferred completion of a fetal monitoring workshop and an orientation to learn surgical asepsis.
