Baptist Health - Central Alabama is looking for an OB Scrub Technician to assist the RN during obstetrical deliveries and emergencies. The role involves performing surgical scrubs, ensuring supplies are maintained in Labor Delivery Rooms, and undertaking clerical tasks as necessary.
The ideal candidate will be a High School graduate with a preference for Certified Surgical Technicians and must hold BLS certification. This position is PRN, mainly during the second shift at Baptist Medical Center South.
The OB Scrub Technician assists the RN in providing quality patient care during obstetrical deliveries and emergencies. Responsibilities include performing surgical scrub, maintaining supplies in Labor Delivery Rooms and surgical suites, and completing clerical duties. Additional duties within scope of the role may be assigned.
High School graduate or equivalent required.
Certified Surgical Technician preferred; BLS required.
Position requires sitting 15% of the workday and mobility 85% of the workday. Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, frequent reaching, use of hands, repetitive action. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 250 pounds or greater. Continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation, continuous visual acuity. Exposure to computer work, risk of electrical shock, hazardous chemicals, infectious disease. Minimal noise levels. Inside protected from weather but not temperature changes.
