Job summary

Uniontown Hospital is hiring a Surgical Technician to assist in the operating room, prepare equipment and instruments, and support nurses in patient care. The role requires CST certification and an associate degree or equivalent training in surgical technology or related fields.

Minimum one year of OR scrub experience is preferred; responsibilities include maintaining sterile setup, assisting with patient care tasks, and ensuring proper instrument handling and transportation to central sterile

Responsibilities

• Assist in nursing procedures as delegated by the RN.

• Prepare instrumentation for transport to Central Sterile for reprocessing.
• Maintain cleanliness and restock as needed.
• Report equipment malfunctions to supervisor.

Reports to Department Director/designee and equipment malfunctions that could affect the standard of care or legal implications.10. Verifies accuracy of sponge/needle and instruments on appropriate record.11.
