Job summary

Merit Health Natchez is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to provide patient-centered care across the nursing process in a fast-paced setting. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care while maintaining patient safety and education.

The role emphasizes documentation, routine assessments, medication administration, and participation in performance improvement and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care following the nursing process.
• Document assessments and report changes in condition to the care team.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for side effects.
• Assist physicians during procedures within documented competency and skill level.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Respond to medical emergencies and participate in CPR/code team activities as appropriate.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
• Maintain infection control protocols to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
• Monitor and operate medical equipment as needed for patient safety.
• Promote patient safety and maintain a clean, safe environment for patients and staff.
• Engage in performance improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance.
