Heart Of Ohio Family Health Centers in Columbus, OH is seeking an OB Intake Nurse (LPN) for full-time hours. The role performs intake visits for pregnant patients, educates on prenatal care, and orders labs per protocol.

Reports to the Women’s Health Program Manager; duties include charting, triage, and basic nursing tasks. Requires Ohio LPN license and an Associate degree. This is a non-exempt, full-time on-site position with a Monday–Friday schedule.

Responsibilities

• Complete OB intake visits and gather a thorough history for the provider.
• Educate patients on prenatal care expectations and provide education materials.
• Manage paperwork coming into the clinic.
• Call patients about abnormal lab results and relay lab results information.
• Participate in training of new Medical Assistants.
• Follow laws, regulations and internal policies, especially safety procedures.
• Assist with phone and walk-in triage.
• Assist with patient rooming and general nurse duties as needed.
• Support Lead LPN with supply levels at the site.

Job Details: Job Location: Columbus, OH 43224, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $20.00 Hourly, Summary: The OB Intake Nurse (LPN) position performs intake visits for pregnant patients which includes collecting patient medical, social, and other history, retrieving patient records, education patients on what to expect during prenatal care, scheduling follow up visits, and ordering labs according to a protocol. The position would also be responsible for completing and submitting Pregnancy Risk Assessment Forms under supervision of the provider. To a more limited extent, the OB Intake nurse would be responsible for assisting with other nursing functions as time allows. These activities would include managing paperwork coming into the clinic, rooming patients, triaging patient problems at the front desk or over the phone, administering nursing care to patients with medical conditions or injuries, providing immunizations, maintaining medical records, and calling patients to deliver messages on behalf of the provider.

Dress Requirement: scrubs in accordance to Heart of Ohio Family Health’s dress code policy

Monday through Friday during standard business hours

Job Duties, these are considered essential to the successful performance of this position:

• Complete OB intake visits and gather a thorough history of the patient for the provider.
• Educates patients on what to expect during their prenatal care and provide education materials.
• Manage paperwork coming into the clinic.
• Calls patients will abnormal lab results and answers patient calls about lab results
• Participates in the training of new Medical Assistants.
• Follows all laws and regulations and adheres to all of the Organization’s policies and procedures, especially the hazardous, health and safety procedures
• Assists with phone and walk-in triage.
• Assists with patient rooming and typical nurse floor duties depending on need. Assists Lead LPN with maintaining clinical supply levels at assigned site.
• Other duties as assigned (non-essential)

Facility Environment:

Heart of Ohio Family Health operates in multiple locations, in Columbus, OH. All facilities have a medical office environment with front-desk reception area, separate patient examination rooms, nursing stations, pharmacy stock room, business offices, hallways and private toilet facilities. All facilities are on the main ground floor and ADA compliant.
