AGS Health is seeking an experienced OB/GYN Medical Coder to join our Domestic Coding Services team in a remote setting. You will review clinical documentation to assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II codes for obstetrics and gynecology services.

The ideal candidate has strong OB/GYN terminology knowledge, coding guidelines, and a commitment to quality, productivity, and client service, with remote work experience and proficiency in EHRs and coding software.

Formación

• Two years of professional OB/GYN coding experience.
• Active AAPC or AHIMA coding certification.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II.
• Strong understanding of OB/GYN terminology and coding guidelines.
• Proficient with electronic health records and coding software.

Responsabilidades

• Code a variety of services including office visits, maternity care, deliveries, and gynecologic procedures.

OB/GYN Medical Coder

Location: Remote
Schedule: Full-time, day shift

Position Overview

AGS Health is seeking an experienced OB/GYN Medical Coder to join our Domestic Coding Services team. This remote position is responsible for reviewing clinical documentation and assigning accurate diagnosis and procedure codes for obstetrics and gynecology services.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of professional coding, OB/GYN terminology, and applicable coding guidelines, along with a commitment to quality, productivity, and client service.

Key Responsibilities

• Review provider documentation and assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II codes for OB/GYN services.
• Code a variety of services, which may include office visits, preventive services, maternity care, deliveries, gynecologic procedures, and surgical services.
• Apply current coding guidelines, payer requirements, and client-specific policies to support accurate coding and billing.
• Review documentation for completeness and identify opportunities for clarification when documentation is incomplete, unclear, or inconsistent.
• Submit documentation questions or provider queries in accordance with established policies.
• Review and resolve coding edits, denials, and other coding-related issues as assigned.
• Meet established quality and productivity standards while maintaining attention to detail.
• Stay current on coding changes, regulatory updates, and OB/GYN coding guidance.
• Participate in coding education, team meetings, audits, and quality improvement activities.
• Maintain the confidentiality and security of patient information in accordance with HIPAA and company policies.
• Collaborate with coding leaders, quality teams, and client representatives as needed.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in health information management, medical coding, or a related field is preferred.
• Active coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA.
• At least two years of professional medical coding experience, including experience coding OB/GYN services.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II coding systems.
• Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology related to obstetrics and gynecology.
• Ability to interpret clinical documentation and apply coding guidelines accurately.
• Experience using electronic health records and coding software.
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to manage assigned work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience coding maternity care, including antepartum, delivery, and postpartum services.
• Experience with gynecologic office procedures and surgical coding.
• Familiarity with payer requirements and coding edits related to OB/GYN services.
• Experience responding to coding audits, providing feedback, or resolving denials.
• Experience reviewing computer-assisted or AI-generated coding recommendations.
