Job summary

Ascension St. Vincent OB/GYN Residency Program in Indiana is seeking a FULL TIME Board Certified OB/GYN Physician Faculty Member. This 1.0 FTE role is divided with 0.8 FTE focusing on PCC OB/GYN clinic work and resident supervision in ambulatory settings, plus some weekday GYN hospital service.

The remaining 0.2 FTE provides OB Hospitalist coverage. You will work with OB/GYN residents at multiple levels, participate in medical education and research, and oversee documentation and patient care

Qualifications

• MD/DO required with Indiana medical license.
• Board certification in OB/GYN required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred (ACLS/ALS).

Responsibilities

• Provide medical services to patients in assigned OB/GYN area.
• Evaluate and treat patients; coordinate discharge planning with case management.
• Participate in academic programs (education and research).
• Accept referrals and act as admitting/consulting physician for hospitalizations.
• Ensure proper documentation meeting insurer requirements; appeal denials.

Your future role at a glanceAscension St. Vincent OB/GYN Residency Program is seeking a FULL TIME Board Certified OB/GYN Physician Faculty Member. This is a great teaching opportunity in an immersive academic atmosphere within the OB/GYN residency program. This position is a 1.0 FTE, broken down accordingly; 0.8 FTE focuses primarily on PCC OB/GYN clinic work and resident supervision in the ambulatory setting, with some weekday coverage of the GYN hospital service included in this portion of the role. The remaining 0.2 FTE would provide OB Hospitalist coverage.

You will be working primarily with OB/GYN residents at various levelsbut will also encounter learners in every field from Family Medicine residents to APPs and MedicalStudents.

How you'll make an impact in this role

• Provide medical services to patients in an assigned area.
• Evaluate and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinate discharge planning with case management.
• Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
• Accept patient referrals from other physicians. Act as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
• Participate in academic programs (eg medical education and research) as requested.
• Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
• Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
