Job summary

Physician for Women's Health (PWH), an affiliate of Women's Health Connecticut, is seeking a full-time OB/GYN physician to support our Torrington practice. The practice serves Litchfield County with offices in Torrington and Winsted, sharing call among 2 MDs, 1 DO, and 2 PA-Cs, affiliated with Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.

Candidates diagnose conditions, guide fetal development, and deliver obstetric and gynecologic care with a commitment to patient-centered service and ongoing professional

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board certified or board eligible in OB/GYN.
• Connecticut license required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform examinations, document medical history and results.
• Order or perform injections, immunizations and basic wound care.
• Counsel patients on prescribed regimens, growth, family planning and health maintenance.
• Develop management plans and ensure continuity of care at follow-up visits.
• Gain competence in EMR systems and support billing at visits.

Job description

Physician for Women's Health (PWH), a proud affiliate of Women's Health Connecticut, is comprised of Physicians who demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide obstetrical and gynecological care, appropriate to the age of the patients served.

Litchfield County OB/GYN, of Physicians for Women's Health, located in Torrington, CT, is seeking a full-time Physician to support our OB/GYN practice four-days per week. Current MD staffing within the practice includes 2 MDs, 1 DO and 2 PA-C's. Physicians take equal call and service patients in two office locations: Torrington and Winsted. The practice is affiliated with Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.

Candidates must have the ability to diagnose patient conditions and provide appropriate treatment recommendations. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of fetal growth and development and have the ability to identify and categorize each patient's age specific grouping of needs.

Position Highlights:

• Perform comprehensive physical examination, and compile patient medical data including health history and results of physical examination.
• Orders or performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations and basic wound care.
• Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
• Develops and implements patient management plans, follows hospitalized patients as appropriate, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care.
• Gain competence in Electronic Medical Record System.
• Billing submission at time of office visit.
