Job summary

Physicians for Women's Health in New Britain, CT is seeking a full-time OB/GYN physician to join our Women’s Health practice. You will provide obstetric and gynecologic care, perform exams, and participate in call coverage across two office locations within the network.

Candidates must be MD or DO, board certified or eligible, CT license, and committed to patient-centered care. Experience in OB/GYN, BLS, and hospital privileges are required; EMR proficiency and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board certified or board eligible in OB/GYN.
• Connecticut medical license.
• BLS certification and hospital privileges eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive OB/GYN examinations and maintain patient medical data.
• Orders or performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations and basic wound care.
• Counsel patients on treatment plans, growth, family planning and health maintenance.
• Develop and implement patient management plans and coordinate care across facilities.
• Gain competence with the EMR system and manage billing during visits.

Job description

Physician for Women's Health (PWH), a proud affiliate of Women's Health Connecticut, is comprised of Physicians who demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide obstetrical and gynecological care, appropriate to the age of the patients served.

New Britain OB/GYN, of Physicians for Women's Health, located in New Britain CT, is seeking a full-time Physician to support our OB/GYN practice. Current MD staffing within the practice includes 6 MD's and 1 APRN. OB Providers take equal call and service patients in two office locations. The practice is affiliated with The Hospital of Central Connecticut.

Candidates must have the ability to diagnose patient conditions and provide appropriate treatment recommendations. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of fetal growth and development and have the ability to identify and categorize each patient's age specific grouping of needs.

Position Highlights:

• Perform comprehensive physical examination, and compile patient medical data including health history and results of physical examination.
• Orders or performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations and basic wound care.
• Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
• Develops and implements patient management plans, follows hospitalized patients as appropriate, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care.
• Gain competence in Electronic Medical Record System.
• Billing submission at time of office visit.
