Job summary

Women's Health Connecticut is seeking a full-time OB/GYN physician to support our OB/GYN practice in Hamden, CT. The team currently includes MDs, CNMs, and an APRN, with hospital affiliation to Yale New Haven Hospital.

The role requires diagnosing conditions, understanding fetal growth, and providing age-appropriate care. Board-eligible/board-certified in OB/GYN and CT license are required.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification or eligibility in OB/GYN.
• Connecticut medical license or eligible to obtain.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical examinations and compile patient data.
• Order or perform therapeutic procedures (injections, immunizations, wound care).
• Counsel patients on treatment plans, growth, development, family planning and health maintenance.
• Develop and implement patient management plans and coordinate care with hospital/clinic teams.
• Gain competence in the Electronic Medical Record System.
• Billing submission at time of office visit.

Overview

Physician for Women's Health (PWH), a proud affiliate of Women's Health Connecticut, is comprised of Physicians who demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide obstetrical and gynecological care, appropriate to the age of the patients served.

Comprehensive Gynecology of CT, of Physicians for Women's Health, located in Hamden, CT, is seeking a full-time Physician to support our OB/GYN practice. Current MD staffing within the practice includes three MD's/Physicians, two Certified Nurse Midwifes, and one APRN. All Full-time, Physicians take call, which is split equally. The practice is affiliated with Yale New Haven Hospital.

Candidates must have the ability to diagnose patient conditions and provide appropriate treatment recommendations. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of fetal growth and development and have the ability to identify and categorize each patient's age specific grouping of needs.

Position Highlights:

• Perform comprehensive physical examination, and compile patient medical data including health history and results of physical examination.


• Orders or performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, and basic wound care.


• Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.


• Develops and implements patient management plans, follows hospitalized patients as appropriate, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care.


• Gain competence in Electronic Medical Record System.


• Billing submission at time of office visit.
