Job summary
Marsha Fuerst School of Nursing - San Diego is seeking adjunct RN (OBGYN) clinical instructors to join our nursing department. Rotations are available on several days of the week, with 12 hours of clinical time plus 3 hours of prep time.
Faculty must meet BRN requirements and be approved by the BRN. Responsibilities include teaching caring theory, QSEN integration, patient care supervision, and guiding student nurses in a collaborative setting.
Qualifications
- Current license as a Registered Nurse to practice in California.
- BLS required; ACLS & PALS as required by the nursing staff specific to the unit.
- ABachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nursing for Instructor level.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in nursing or related area for assistant instructor level.
- Two years of nursing experience; demonstrated leadership skills.
- Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English.
- Strong customer service skills; teamwork ability.
- Demonstrated ability to teach theory and supervise clinical practice.
Responsibilities
- Direct patient care; serves as a reliable teaching resource.
- Teaching nursing theory and coordinating theory/clinical courses.
- Develop and evaluate innovative educational programs for students.
- Lead clinical practice and quality improvement initiatives.
- Mentor nurses and supervise staff and students.
- Ensure confidentiality and proper data handling in education.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to improve care.
