Marsha Fuerst School of Nursing is seeking an experienced RN to join the SEC team as an Adjunct OB/GYN/Med-Surg Clinical Instructor on a part-time basis (Fridays) with 12-hour rotations across clinical sites. The role emphasizes mentoring students, applying evidence-based nursing, and ensuring patient safety in a teaching environment.

Ideal applicants hold a California RN license, Bachelors or higher in Nursing, and experience in OB/GYN or med-surg settings; teaching experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted California RN license.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ACLS and PALS certifications as required by the clinical specialty.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing for Instructor roles.
  • Minimum two years nursing experience; teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and evaluate students during clinical experiences in OB/GYN/Med-Surg settings.
  • Guide students in applying the nursing process and clinical judgment.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and individualized feedback to support student success.
  • Facilitate laboratory instruction and hands-on skill development as assigned.
  • Participate in curriculum implementation and program improvement.
