Responsibilities

• Evaluates need for and ordering laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Assesses need for referral to other healthcare providers.
• Educates patients and their families and encourages participation in healthcare decisions.
• Participates in labor and delivery coverage for caseload and assists during deliveries as needed.
• Collaborates with physicians and nurses per guidelines; attends obstetrics meetings and supports change.
