Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Per Diem Medical Assistant to support both clinical and administrative duties in the OBGYN Clinic. Under RN supervision, they will assist with patient care, perform EKGs, collect vital signs, and help with billing and patient information management.

The role emphasizes accurate data entry, patient flow coordination, and compassionate, non-judgmental care, in a major teaching hospital network focused on community-based health services.

Qualifications

• Must have EKG/Phlebotomy and clinical skills from training at an accredited school.
• Good communications skills in English.
• Basic computer proficiency including entering and interpreting computerized data.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrocardiograms (EKG).
• Collect and document patient data (vital signs, reason for visit).
• Assist nurse/health team during procedures and treatments.
• Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information for reimbursement.
• Schedule appointments and facilitate patient flow in ambulatory settings.
