Job summary

Indiana University Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant for our OB/GYN team in Avon, IN. The role supports a Nurse Practitioner in a fast-paced women’s health practice, with a full-time schedule, no weekends, and a consistent daytime shift.

The MA will room patients, record vital signs, collect urine samples, prep procedure trays, and assist with clinical procedures while supporting direct patient care and EMR management. Travel between Avon, Mooresville and Plainfield is required.

Qualifications

• MA certification required for MA II position.
• MA I candidates with strong potential and previous patient facing experience will be considered.
• Previous healthcare or patient-facing experience is preferred, but not required.
• AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare workers certification required.
• Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA required.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding required.
• TB validation or validation within 6 months of hire preferred.
• Knowledge of Medical Assistants standards and clinical competencies.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and prepare them for visits.
• Obtain and document vital signs.
• Perform urinalysis and process urine specimens.
• Prepare procedure trays and assist with clinical procedures.
• Provide direct patient care and clinical support.
• Support a provider caring for approximately 18-19 patients daily.
• Maintain EMR files and assist with front office activities as needed.
