Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, collect specimens, and assist clinicians across CH offices. The role includes clerical duties, front desk tasks, and ensuring smooth patient flow.

You will maintain clean exam rooms, manage supplies, and document patient information in the electronic medical record while following policies and safety procedures. Certification and BLS are required or pursued with training provided.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited medical assisting program with 330 clock hours.
• Current certification from one of the recognized certifying boards (AAMA/NCCT/AMCA/NAHP/NCMA/AMT).
• AHA BLS required or obtained within orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and take vital signs (BP, weight, temp).
• Assist physicians and staff, maintain exam rooms and stock supplies.
• Record medical history and document in electronic medical records (EMR).
• Perform ECGs and point-of-care testing per policies and procedures.
• Handle front office tasks: registration, scheduling, discharge paperwork, referrals.
• Verify specimen orders and assist with specimen collection as needed.
• Coordinate with front desk and ancillary staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
