UPMC is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the OB/GYN team in Washington, PA. The role includes back office and front office duties within a fast-paced women’s health practice with growth opportunities.

Hours are Monday through Friday, typically 7:30am to 4:30pm, with occasional later days as needed. Applicants with prior Medical Assistant experience are preferred and will be placed on the Medical Assistant Career Ladder based on experience and education.

Qualifications

• Previous Medical Assistant experience is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Back office and front office duties as part of OB/GYN team.
• Send/receive patient records in compliance with HIPAA and regulations.
• Obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, and manage forms/requisitions as needed.
• Schedule appointments and verify insurance coverage and patient demographics.
• Prepare and manage charts for information completeness and filing.
• Prepare patient rooms and equipment; maintain infection control between visits.
• Assist with patient flow, provide patient transportation as needed, and collect vitals.
• Answer calls and relay pertinent information including patient education.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and clinic procedures; document information into the medical record.
• Comply with OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health requirements and UP S C health system policies.
